Hellens will undertake the construction of a £60,000 community garden at Ox Close Primary School in Spennymoor over the next two months.
Nick Redpath, Health, Safety and Environmental Manager, carried out a lively health and safety talk in the Ox Close Primary School assembly prior to the project start. This is seen as a vital part of Hellens' commitment to positive interaction with the communities affected by our work. The theme of the assembly was Safe Play At All Times. It gave the children information about the dangers of building sites and warned them to find safer places to play.
Mrs Forbes, Head Teacher at the school said, "We are delighted that Hellens have taken such a responsible attitude to safety issues prior to the start of work to create our community garden. All of the children at Ox Close thoroughly enjoyed the informative health and safety presentation by Nick Redpath. It served to raise awareness of the dangers on building sites and successfully emphasised the need for safe play at all times."
