River protection works. client: Northumbrian Water Ltd | value: £65,000 | contract date: 2001-02 Hellens Contracts carried out river protection works to a stretch of the River Wear in Witton, County Durham. The contract involved the protection of existing weak bankside using rock armour stone. Stone was delivered to site and hauled 800m through newly created parkland.
