Case Study - Westgate Community College
New sports complex for college and public use.

client: Newcastle City Council | value: £800,000 | contract date: 2000

The contract comprised the construction of a number of all weather artificial grass pitches to form part of a new sports complex for college and public use. Two seven-a-side and five 5-a-side football pitches were constructed along with one full size hockey pitch.

Playing surfaces were mainly sand filled polypropylene woven carpet 23mm deep laid on an insitu rubber shock pad. One of the seven -a-side pitches has a 65mm rubber/sand filled prestige carpet. The pitch looks very much like grass, allowing the use of football boots and making it very popular with teams.

Acoustic barrier fence
