Hellens reclaimed the former Darchem works site and adjacent tip areas in Darlington. The site was prepared for use by national housebuilders.

Works comprised:

Site Clearance

Excavation and deposition of low level contaminated material
contained on site

Excavation and processing of hard material contained on site

Import of engineered fill within proposed housing zones

Reshape of existing tip areas using cut and fill techniques

Localised diversion of a beck running through the site

Associated hard and soft landscaping

Environmental monitoring was carried out throughout
the construction phase.
