Partnering Framework to meet Wear Valley District Council’s
Housing Regeneration Programme for Demolition

Hellens have begun work at the first stage of implementation of a partnering framework agreement with Wear Valley District Council to provide demolition services as part of regeneration of the District’s housing stock.
The works are split between individual programmed projects on specific housing estates and also the provision of an on-call emergency facility for extra demolitions required (e.g. due to vandalism / fire damage).
A key feature of the work is the management of subcontract elements for various parts of the demolition services such as controlled asbestos removal.
Working in such close vicinity to residential areas means that public liaison and health & safety management is of particular priority along with issues such as maintaining integrity of live drainage etc.
