Case Study - Carlisle Park Regeneration
Regeneration and improvement of Carlisle Park, Morpeth, Northumberland.

client:
Castle Morpeth Borough Council | value: £800,000
contract date:
2001-02

These works involved the regeneration and improvement of Carlisle Park in the centre of Morpeth, Northumberland. An important aspect of the contract was the use of high quality materials which were sympathetic to the traditional nature of the Park.

The regeneration programme spanned one calendar year and involved various aspects of landscaping work reflecting the different uses of the park. The Park remained open to the public at all times during the works which meant that a high level of awareness had to be made by all staff on site.

Specific work included:

A new pre-cast concrete stage structure
with grassed stepping to provide seating

Street lighting and furniture

Riverside railings

A new landing stage for recreational boating

Soft landscaping

Construction of a memorial Apothecary garden with timber and stainless steel entrance features and gazebo
