Site acquired by Hellens. Former asbestos manufacturing facility on site of 9 acres. Land assembly undertaken and masterplan for redevelopment of 40 acre site drawn up in consultation with City of Sunderland Council, local residents, local businesses and interested partners. Redevelopment to incorporate over 250 houses, retail facilities and business park of over 100,000sq ft. Consent received November 2006.
