Demolition of Colliery Buildings, Allerton Bywater

This project involved the demolition of two colliery office buildings at Allerton Bywater, Castleford. The location of the site adjacent to an existing residential development meant that strict working practices were necessarily adhered to, in particular noise and dust control measures.
The scope of works was as follows:
Demolition of one two-storey steel framed office building and one five-storey concrete framed office building, including grubbing up and removal of foundations and floor slabs.
Excavation and removal of all roads, hardstandings, footpaths etc within the designated demolition area
Dis-connection and removal of all underground electric services on site.
Blanking off of water services to the site and removal of all water services.
Removal of all Telecom Services to site.
Removal of scrub and vegetation surrounding the buildings
Site Clearance to a depth of 2m
Processing of demolition materials to a 6F2 finish
